Paralegal

Job Duties

• Draft and review family law-related pleadings including petitions and motions, decrees, pretrial statements, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and orders.
• Coordinate discovery and respond to discovery requests.
• Prepare correspondence to clients, experts, court personnel and opposing attorneys.
• Track court dates and deadlines.
• Participate in and prepare documentation for meetings with clients and organize and maintain client files.
• Prepare exhibits and trial and hearing notebooks.
• Gather and assemble relevant case materials for court hearings, deposition, and settlement conferences.
• Track billable time in PCLaw practice management software

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in family law or civil litigation experience
• College degree preferred
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedures and its complexities
• In-depth knowledge of procedures and court deadlines and requirements specific to family law cases
• Detail oriented, high degree of organizational skills, and strong ability to multi-task
• Know how to prioritize and self-manage your own workload
• Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office.
• Self-motivated and organized while working through multiple projects and prioritizing tasks assigned.  The candidate needs to be assertive, proactive, and able to clearly communicate with clients and firm attorneys.
