Attorney Kristy Atanasov was born and raised just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. Kristy attended Bowling Green State University, in northwest Ohio, where she graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. After braving twenty Ohio winters, Kristy grew tired of the freezing temperatures and moved to sunny Phoenix, where she attended the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law. During law school, Kristy spent one year in the Lodestar Mediation Clinic at ASU, where she completed 180 hours of clinical practice in Alternative Dispute Resolution and discovered her passion for family law.
Kristy approaches all of her cases with a calm and non-judgmental attitude. She understands that family law issues are often messy and highly emotional, and it is her goal to help you navigate through any legal issue that may arise in your case while also providing the support and sensitivity you need. Kristy is committed to providing you with honest and sound legal advice so your most important decisions, those regarding your family, children and marriage, are made with knowledge and skill.
Kristy is admitted to the State Bar of Arizona and handles many different legal issues, including, divorce, spousal maintenance, child custody (legal decision-making), parenting time, paternity, child support, post-decree modification and enforcement. Kristy practices out of our Gilbert office.
In her free time, Kristy enjoys doing yoga, watching French films, reading about philosophy, and spending time with her cats, Clementine and Daphne.
